Newton is the only player to lead a current NFL franchise in both career touchdown passes (136) and career rushing touchdowns (48).
In Week One at Denver (9/8/16), Newton produced his 32nd game with both a passing and rushing touchdown, breaking a tie with Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Young for the most in NFL history. He produced his 33rd such game in Week Six at New Orleans (10/16/16), his 34th in Week Ten vs. Kansas City (11/13/16) and his 35th in Week Twelve at Oakland (11/27/16).
Newton has 21,772 passing yards and 3,566 rushing yards in his career and is the only player in NFL history to have at least 20,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards in his first six seasons. Newton ranks second in NFL history in combined rushing and passing yards through a player's first six seasons, passing Matthew Stafford (22,199) and Drew Bledsoe (22,257) in Week Three vs. Minnesota (9/25/16), Dan Marino (23,845) in Week Eleven vs. New Orleans (11/17/16) and Matt Ryan (24,027) in Week Twelve at Oakland (11/27/16).
Newton is one of just three players in NFL history, along with Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts from 1998-2003 and Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals from 2011-16, to have at least 3,000 passing yards in each of their first six seasons.
Newton has rushed for at least 500 yards in five of his six NFL seasons and joins Randall Cunningham and Michael Vick (six each) as the only quarterbacks with five or more 500-yard rushing seasons in a career. He is the only player in NFL history to have five seasons with 3,000 or more passing yards and 500 or more rushing yards at any point in a career.

With 261 passing yards in Week Ten vs. Kansas City (11/13/16), quarterback Cam Newton reached the 20,000 career passing yards milestone.
Newton is the fifth youngest quarterback to reach 20,000 passing yards (27 years, 186 days) in NFL history.
RUSHING INTO THE ENDZONE
Newton's 48 rushing touchdowns are the second-most among active players in the NFL since his rookie season in 2011.
Newton scored a team-leading 14 rushing touchdowns in 2011, the most-ever by a quarterback in NFL history, surpassing the previous mark of 12 by Steve Grogan in 1976.
Newton's 48 career rushing touchdowns are the most by a quarterback since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970.

Newton has been successful moving the chains with his legs since entering the NFL in 2011, with 275 of his 686 rushes going for first downs. The 40.1 rushing first down percentage is the top mark in the NFL during that time.
In 2016, Newton rushed 90 times and 28 went for first downs, a 31.1 first down percentage. In 2015, Newton led the NFL with a 42.4 first down percentage, accounting for 56 first downs on 132 rushes. He led the NFL in rushing first down percentage in each of his first five seasons (2011-15), including a career-high mark of 43.69 percent (45-of-103) in 2014.
NEWTON AMONG PANTHERS ALL-TIME LEADERS
Newton has continued to move up the Panthers all-time passing lists. In Week Two vs. San Francisco (9/18/16), Newton established new team records for passing touchdowns and 300-yard passing games, previously held by Jake Delhomme (2003-09).
In Week Six at New Orleans (10/16/16), Newton established a new franchise record for career passing yards, surpassing Delhomme's old record of 19,258.
In Week Ten vs. Kansas City (11/13/16), Newton established new franchise marks for attempts and completions surpassing Delhomme's marks of 2,669 attempts and 1,580 completions.
Newton is the Panthers’ all-time record holder in passing yards (21,772), passing touchdowns (136), pass attempts (2,928), pass completions (1,710) and 300-yard passing games (14).
